Our Products

High quality components are an integral part of any Concept Timber project. We know exactly what materials will work best for individual situations. We bring together traditional techniques and modern technologies to create practical, imaginative eco-homes and timber frames / roof truss based buildings.

Concept Timber Frame offers a range of products not readily available anywhere else in the UK. Simply tell us what’s most important to you – whether it’s look, performance or cost – and we’ll show you how to achieve it.

Eco-friendly Timber Frame Panels

Energy-efficient wall and floor panels are manufactured and assembled in-house and insulated on-site. We select appropriate timber studding, sheathing and insulation materials for each individual project.

Timber panels are pre-cut with window and door openings. They combine the benefit of rapid construction with a healthy, energy-efficient living environment. This type of construction is ideally suited to one-off homes, social housing and community buildings such as village halls and playgroup buildings.

Standard/Traditional Timber Frames
We can engineer or supply everything from complex softwood frames to beautiful hardwood frames in Oak or Douglas Fir. When wide spans or unusual curved structures are required, we may recommend the strength of Masonite I-beams or the design flexibility of Glu-laminated timber. For extra strong applications, we also manufacture special eco-joists using metal posi-struts.

Many of our projects now feature a traditional oak or Douglas Fir frame, in-filled with energy efficient timber panels. This achieves the dual benefit of attractive exposed beams with a healthy, efficient and environmentally friendly living environment.

Roof Truss
Roof Trusses

Roof trusses are used in over 95% of all new housing in the UK and are increasingly being used in commercial and industrial settings.

Here are some of the major advantages of roof trusses:

1. A fully engineered, practical, flexible solution for a wide range of roof structures.

2. Material savings: trusses can use up to 40% less timber than a traditionally built roof.

3. A method of roof construction which utilises established industry skills and equipment.

4. Because roof trusses are pre-fabricated components you save time and cost on site.

5. Reduced site waste, loss and pilferage of materials.

6. Space saving on site, with no need for timber storage or carpentry areas.

7. The ability to accept a wide range of roof and ceiling coverings.

8. The design flexibility to accommodate the wide range of services required in modern buildings.

We manufacture a full range of standard roof trusses in-house, catering both for small self-builders and larger commercial developers. All trusses are manufactured to BS5268 standards, using Mitek fixings. We also design and manufacture individual roof designs, from barrelled and curved roofs to portal frames. With years of experience in this market, we offer a fast, reliable supply of precision-manufactured roofs for buildings of all sizes and shapes.

Posi-Joists

You simply can't afford to ignore the advantages of the Posi-Joist system.

To start with, because Posi-Joist combines the lightness of timber with the strength of the Posi-Strut steel web, you can span far greater distances than would be possible with alternative timber products.

This gives you unequalled design freedom across a wide range of applications for both floor and roof in domestic, industrial and commercial applications.
The Posi-Joist allows a variety of internal room layouts within an external shell due to its clear spanning capabilities.

Exceptional floor performance from a minimum 72mm wide fixing surface makes flooring easy, controls shrinkage, and with precision engineering it all reduces those tiresome return visits and remedial work.

More .... benefits such as the unique open web design provide an area in which Plumbers and Electricians will find it easy and convenient to work. The job's done far more quickly and the contractor makes worthwhile savings.

Even on long spans, no herring-bone strutting is necessary with the Posi-Joist system. If the span exceeds 4m, a strong-back is installed at mid-span.

The Posi-Joist does not just joist floors it can adequately span for flat and pitched roofs. Its span capability and timber flanges make it the more desirable alternative to all steel systems.

Canadian Flat Pack Homes
